Have you scheduled your annual exam yet?

During this appointment you may have a pelvic and/or breast exam and a Pap smear. Depending on your age and medical history there may also be a discussion about birth control, pregnancy planning or menopause. This is your appointment that focuses on you.

Annual exams can start as early as the age of 14. Girls in their teen years may not need a pelvic exam but starting female care will help them become aware of their bodies, teach them about menstruation, opens the door for an honest discussion about sexuality, all while establishing a relationship with a caring provider.

Women should continue having annual exams, even into the later years of life. There are many benefits of having this exam that extend beyond a pap smear, such as help with vaginal dryness or urinary incontinence. And…let’s not even get started on those menopause symptoms that may need to be discussed…!

So, have you scheduled your annual exam yet? If not, give us a call at 937-323-7340. You can also make an appointment through our portal (myhealthrecord.com) or on our website at www.physurg.net.
